I placed an order for a custom birthday cake. Gave the reference image of the exact design/color/style with a photo of the exact image I wanted on my cake. (This was my daughter’s only request for her birthday party) I put this order in on June 4th, nearly a month before I needed the cake. When I placed the order the lady that helped was very sweet, she had me text Sue the images I had, to make sure they were able to do this exact request. I was told yes and it was $90. I’ll include the reference photo of what we wanted and what they made. I needed the cake by June 28th. There was zero communication. No one from the bakery reached out with any questions or concerns. The cake they made you can clearly see the image placement is completely wrong. I didn’t notice really until I got to my car saw how bad it was and immediately went back in. I told them the image placement is wrong and this was going to upset my daughter. The lady at the counters response was “for images we can’t make it fit the cake that’s the first thing you were told” it absolutely was not what I was told. No one informed me of this which I told her and stated if that was explained I would have went somewhere else.

I ordered a handful of miscellaneous baked goods that were so delicious, I called & ordered a custom strawberry cheeksecake with extra strawberries. EDB did not disappoint!

So we went on a Michigan Cheese cake trip for my girls birthday. She's from NY so she's big about her cheese cake. This was the second place we went to. It was also the best place we visited. The food amazing they also have a tiny Deli with a great Italian sandwich about 12 inches long. The cheese cake was better than the other places visited including Kitty's cheese cake and Blondies cheese cake. Of the 3 the East Detroit bakery and deli was the best hands down. Food 5 stars. It's cheaper and better portions and quality and taste than Kitty's cheese cake and Blondies cheese cake hands down. There's just no comparison. Kitty's was frozen and so was Blondies cheese cake. Now Service wasn't the best at East Detroit bakery we waited about 5 min while 2 lady's were just talking when there was only 3 customers in the store at the time . While we were standing and my woman was eager to spend money 😂. But once we got there attention the picking was on and bagging up was and packing of the food was great. I'd still give 5 star overall the cheese cakes just that much better than others we'd tried on our cheese cake trip. Also I have to mention again the deli sandwich was delicious 😋. Tha

Stopped by East Detroit Bakery and was seriously impressed. We picked up a variety of cheesecake slices and cake, and everything looked just as good as it tasted. The presentation alone was top-tier ,clean, colorful, and clearly made with attention to detail. Each slice had its own unique flavor and texture. The cheesecakes were rich and creamy, while the cake was moist, fresh, and full of flavor. The ones topped with strawberries, sprinkles, and chocolate had the perfect balance of sweetness without being overwhelming. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and nothing tasted overly heavy or artificial. This was the perfect treat for my wife’s birthday celebration, and everyone found a favorite. If you’re into cheesecake, cake, or just want something different than the usual bakery options, this place is definitely worth checking out. I’ll absolutely be back to try more.

I’m embarrassed I’ve lived here over a year now and I’ve never stopped in. I had to change that. I was pleasantly surprised to see the selection of goods. They offer Kowalski products on sandwiches, they have a large assortment of baked goods, desserts & breads. I have been eating their bread for almost a year now as they bake it fresh for Salvatore’s on Gratiot. So delicious. The desserts are priced well, we snagged a few things, I think it was 4 dollars an item. I just stuck my toes in the water but we will definitely be back. Thank you EDB&D.
